We are so excited to get this school year going! F We are so excited to get this school year going! First day of distance learning is Wednesday Aug. 12th. Make sure you’ve completed your re-enrollment packet if you haven’t already. (Find it on our website Mupu.org —> quick links —> Parent Connect and our supporting documents under the Parents tab) Also, don’t forget about our drive thru pick up of your scholar’s textbooks and supplies Tuesday from 9-11am. The 2020 United States Census is how the governmen The 2020 United States Census is how the government counts our population. It determines how billions of dollars in federal money will be spent on important services, including schools. It happens only once every ten years, so now is our chance to be sure we’re counted. The census has just nine simple questions and takes only a few minutes to finish. You can complete the census online at www.2020census.gov or by filling out the paper form that you may have received in the mail. Completing the census is required by law and your personal information won’t be shared with any other government agency. If you don’t complete the census, a government worker will be visiting your home to follow up. So complete the census today to be sure that Ventura County gets the resources it deserves. Again, the census website is www.2020census.gov. Thank you! #mupuschool

The Child Nutrition Services Team will continue to The Child Nutrition Services Team will continue to provide "Grab n Go," 5 Day meal bags for families to pick-up on Mondays only, from 10:30am-12:00pm during the summer . Parents or students may walk or drive up to tables that we will have set up and receive 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches per child ages 1-18 years of age. Meals will be served "Grab n Go." Please only take one meal bag per child in your care so that we have enough meals for everyone Follow the Safe Food Handling instructions Keep Refrigerated items Refrigerated. Example: milk, string cheese, yogurt Keep frozen items either refrigerated or frozen until heating for consumption. Example: burrito, corn dog Heat items fully for consumption Rinse fresh fruit and produce items before consumption Discard any items that have reached an expiration date Discard any leftovers by end of day Friday All Children are welcome; they do not have to be SPUSD students, no ID or information is needed; all Santa Paula families are welcome. Children DO Not need to be present to pick up meals. All meals must be taken off the property to be eaten, as we are trying to maintain social distancing. Please keep 6 feet away from each other and employees Please consider wearing a face mask or covering when picking up meals For those that are walking up, if you see a line forming, please wait well behind others and do not congregate near food carts or employees Please only touch what you are taking Please DO NOT come and pick up meals if you are sick We will be evaluating this program daily and make adjustments if needed. Meals will be served at the following 2 sites: 1.) Glen City Elementary: 141 S Steckel Drive (Drive and Walk up) 2.) Please see information below for those that qualif Please see information below for those that qualify for free or reduced school meals. The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and the California Department of Education (CDE) are excited to announce that the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) application deadline has been extended to July 15, 2020. Application Processing Families that have already applied for P-EBT benefits who are still awaiting an eligibility determination do not need to apply again. CDSS will continue to review and process all applications received between May 22 and July 15 through the end of July to ensure that as many children as possible are verified for P-EBT eligibility and able to receive benefits. As of this week, P-EBT cards have been issued to over 3 million P-EBT eligible children across the state. The CDE continues to provide data to the CDSS for those children deemed eligible during the months of May or June. The extension of the P-EBT deadline does not change P-EBT eligibility requirements. Children must be eligible for free or reduced-price school meals and be attending a school that participates in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Programs. New Client Inquiry Form To support family access and customer service, the CDSS has launched a secure client inquiry online form to take the place of the general P-EBT inbox. This will allow families to securely submit case information so that the CDSS can better assist in resolving their inquiry. An email address is not required for submission, but is highly recommended. Families will be required to provide a phone number so that a CDSS customer service representative can respond to their inquiry. The new client inquiry form is available online at https://inquiry.pebt.dss.ca.gov. The form will also be linked on the CDSS P-EBT web page. Updated Outreach Materials Phase three outreach materials, including updated flyers in English, Spanish, and Chinese are available now online at www.cdss.ca.gov/pandemic-ebt.
